Nigerian trumpeter, gospel songwriter, singer, and pastor Nathaniel Bassey is well-known for his songs "Imela," "Onise Iyanu," and "Olowogbogboro." He leads The Oasis Lagos, The Youth Church of the RCCG Kings Court in VI, Lagos, and attends The Redeemed Christian Church of God.
Nathaniel began playing the trumpet in the church and joined the Rhodes Orchestra where he played for two years. Before writing a song for the late Stella Obasanjo, the late wife of former president Olusegun Obasanjo, he was just a regular trumpet player. Bassey was a prominent performer at the Nigerian Christian event The Experience in 2018. 2008 saw the recording and mixing of his self-titled debut album in Cape Town, South Africa.
With the smash hit single, "someone's knocking at the door," a soft-rock song that is now attracting so much interest both locally and worldwide, it has been called a spiritual and creative masterpiece.
