Pa Enoch Adejare Adeboye is a Nigerian pastor and the present General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God Worldwide. He served as the second national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria.
Enoch Adejare Adeboye started his education at Ilesha Grammar School in Ilesha Osun State in 1956. Daddy G.O, as he is fondly called, then proceeded to the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN); But, following the outbreak of the Nigerian civil war, he could not complete his first degree there. He proceeded to the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) and graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1967. He obtained a Master's degree in Hydrodynamics from the University of Lagos in 1969 and a Ph.D. applied mathematics from the same institution in 1975.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God became popular after Pa E.A Adeboye was made the General Overseer, having branches in 198 countries; with more than 14,000,000 worshipers in Nigeria alone.
Pa Adeboye once said that his aim was to put a church within five minutes of walking distance in every developing city and five minutes driving distance in developed cities.
As a promoter of goodwill and in his desire to help humanity, Pa Adeboye runs a foundation which donated eight dialysis machines to Wuse District Hospital Abuja; as well as a reverse osmosis medical water purification system, and an electrical generator.
Pa E.A Adeboye is a prolific writer and has written several books too numerous to count. As an academia, with many honorary doctorates to his name, he has supported four universities in the country with cash grants.
In 2008, Enoch Adeboye was recognized as 1 of the 50 most powerful people in the world by Newsweek. He was also cited as one of the top 100 most influential Africans by New African magazine in 2019.
Pa Enoch A. Adeboye is married to his beautiful wife, Foluke Adenike Adeboye (nee Adeyokunnu). He is a father, grandfather, mentor, and spiritual leader to millions globally. His impact and influence on our current generation and humanity in general will remain endeared in our hearts and to future generations.
